This Cookie Policy explains how the operator of dejav uses cookies and similar technologies on the Service. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data a website stores in your browser. They let a website remember information between requests or visits. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, work the same way. The Service sets cookies that are necessary to provide the Service you request, and analytics cookies only if you accept them.
2. Necessary cookies and storage
- Session cookie: after you sign in, an HTTP-only, secure session cookie identifies your signed-in session. Without it, the Service cannot keep you signed in or protect authenticated requests from being made by another site.
- Authorization state cookie: when you sign in with GitHub, connect GitHub to give the Service access to your repositories, or link a Google account, an HTTP-only, signed cookie holds a random value for up to 5 minutes, so that we can confirm that the response from GitHub or Google belongs to the authorization you started. It is removed once that response is checked. The other values that secure this exchange are kept on our servers, not in cookies.
- Cookie choice: your answer to the cookie banner is kept in your browser's local storage, so that we do not ask again on every visit. It is not sent to our servers.
- Local development isolation: a development environment may use a separately named session cookie so that its session does not overlap with another local environment. This is not used to track you across sites.
3. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
On the public pages of our website (not inside the signed-in application), we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the website. It is loaded only after you select Accept in the cookie banner. If you accept, it sets the following cookies, each kept for up to 2 years:
- _ga: distinguishes one visitor's browser from another.
- _ga_<ID>: keeps the state of the current visit.
Google Analytics tells us which pages are visited, how visitors arrived, and general information about their device, browser, and approximate location. We do not turn on Google Analytics' advertising features or Google signals, and we do not use this data for advertising. Google processes it as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
4. Cookies we do not use
We do not use advertising, social-media, cross-site tracking, or fingerprinting cookies. We do not sell or share cookie data for advertising.
5. Your controls
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page of the website. Withdrawing consent stops Google Analytics and deletes the analytics cookies it set for this website. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie prevents you from signing in and using authenticated parts of the Service. You can end a current session by signing out.
6. Changes and contact
If we add another cookie that is not necessary, we will update this page and obtain any consent required before setting it. Questions about cookies can be sent to [email protected].
